As so often, being green is smart business. Great to work with Transurban to cut vehicle #emissions. Drivers in our eco-driving trial cut their footprint AND saved 12-15c a litre by driving green. #fuelprices are sky high right now so why not help your wallet and the world? Transurban are featuring the trial report on their homepage right now. It's a good read if you're in #sustainability. There are definitely practical and easy ways to cut our business footprint.

Not ready for an EV yet but still impatient to cut vehicle emissions?   Try eco-driving.  🌱   Transurban, who are already working hard to reduce emissions through efficient road design and investment in EV infrastructure, set up a 700,000 KM eco-driving project. They used GOFAR units to monitor and reduce GHG emissions in 400 vehicles. - 95% of drivers agreed their driving improved. - 74 tonnes of carbon emissions avoided per year - $50K in fuel savings per year What’s eye opening is how cost effective cutting emissions can be. Equipping 400 vehicles with GOFAR costs less than buying 1 electric vehicle but achieved an emissions reduction equivalent to removing 20 vehicles from the road.   The trial showed a pay back in year 1 on fuel savings alone, (and that was before fuel prices hit their current 14 year high).    We’re currently taking orders for our next production run.   If you're investigating fast impact strategies to reduce emissions, why not reach out.   Oh – and one myth to bust! Great session coming up on Wed May 19th. It's all about how live feedback makes young drivers safer. SIRA (NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority) ran a randomised control trial where 50% of drivers in the trial got real time feedback from GOFAR 's Ray driver display. The results showed • 39% cut lower rate of high range speeding • 42% less harsh braking events Speed management is key in #visionzero and this is a proven option for road safety practitioners that can be deployed easily. It can also be deployed in very targeted fashion as it's an "in car" rather than an infrastructure solution.

🏆 So proud for GOFAR to get the Australian Road Safety Federation's award for technology from the Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack in Canberra this week. The award was for GOFAR's tech and for the massive randomised control trial run by Transport for NSW's Centre for Road Safety and NSW State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). SIRA's 4 million km trial proved GOFAR's instant driver feedback delivered: - 39% less high range speeding - 42% less harsh braking events per 1000km - 25% less extreme acceleration The SIRA report concluded that it could save $59.9M a year in crashes avoided if rolled out to young drivers in NSW. 🏆Up for some good news? GOFAR just won the prestigious Technology Award from the Australian Road Safety Federation.🏆 (see 5:12 in the video) We won for our work with #SIRA and #TransportForNSW to nudge young drivers to safer driving. 1 - Affordable GOFAR in car sensors captured 4 million km of high precision data, creating safety benchmarks for young drivers. 2 - Our real time feedback solution was then proven in a rigorous randomised control trial to reduce harsh braking events by 42% and high range speeding by 38% making roads safer for all. https://lnkd.in/fmb2Pfz GOFAR has won 7 awards now but this one, being for road safety, is the one I'm most pleased about. This chart shows the impact of COVID19 on driving behaviour. Driving distances started to decline around March 6th in both Australia and the US. Australian driving habits (so far) have reduced less than those we see in the USA. About the data: drivers use GOFAR to maintain their car, log business mileage, save on fuel and make each journey safer. The data is not a structured sample of all drivers therefore. That said, this sample covers almost 5000 drivers and we thought it useful to show the timing and direction of changes. Happy to answer questions in comments.
